Angela

Angela also made the view A using cotton and trimming it with a band in a contrasting color. I have to be honest, I think her skirt is just gorgeous. At the time she sent me pics of her skirt I was sewing my own view A using denim and I was so inspired by Angela's idea that I added a satin ribbon trim to my skirt.

Angela says the sewing was rather intense and she needed to concentrate on the work, but with the instructions and a sewalong guides an advanced beginner would be able to make the skirt on his / her own.

I was thrilled by Angela's commitment to the testing - she noted every single typo in the instructions that I missed. Also, she was very detailed in her comments, suggestions, sending ideas on how to rephrase a certain sentence to make it more clear and understandable. Her comments were very helpful when I was correcting all the steps in the instructions that were not clear enough. If you ever need a pattern tester, I recommend Angela :).

Julijana 

Julijana also made the view A. She decorated the skirt with embroidery stitches along the belt loops, pockets and hemline. I like how her skirt combines a classic style with the casual one. The skirt's made of denim, but you can't say it's too informal.

 

Claire

Claire made a cheerful and colorful skirt using the View B. She used a curtain cotton as the main fabric and the red gabardine for the border and waist yokes. She also shortened the skirt by several inches. I really like her version - it's such a nice skirt for spring! When I completed sewing my skirts I thought having three skirts made with the same pattern was enough, but after seeing Claire's variation I thought of making another similar to hers - cheerful and casual, that would match well with a pair of flats and summer blouses.

Kathy

Kathy made not one but two skirts while testing the pattern! They're both made using the View C pattern, but in different fabrics - one's made of navy cotton, and the other in a plaid fabric. I have to point out Kathy is a very experienced seamstress and she made a clever alteration to the pattern in order to adapt it for working with plaids. You see, the Zlata skirt pattern is not appropriate for plaid and striped fabrics in it's original state (I'll write more on that next week), but a certain alteration can solve this problem. Kathy made an alteration perfectly and I will show you what she did to the pattern in one of the following posts, so stay tuned!

Also, I'd like to thank Kathy for checking out all my measurements conversion from metric system to yards and inches. To make this more specific, Kathy did that while she was waiting for her husband while he was having a surgery! Luckily, Kathy's husband's surgery went well and he is recovering.

How to buy the pattern

Zlata skirt pattern costs $11.98,and it can be bought via my Etsy shop.  I use 2Checkout as a payment collector - it is an equivalent to PayPal - which accepts the following payment methods: * PayPal via 2checkout (www.2co.com) * Credit / Debit cards via 2checkout : Visa, Dina Card, Master Card, American Express, Discover PayPal doesn't support selling option for my country yet, so I use 2Checkout payment collector instead.

When making a purchase order, select "Other" in the payment options. I have to manually issue an invoice for you, via 2Checkout system. The invoice contains a link where you can complete the purchase - it's a page on 2Checkout's website. Once you fill in your billing information, you can chose to pay either by using PayPal account or your credit card. You don't have to register to 2checkout and you won't be charged any additional fees. It's simple, fast and secure. Once the payment is completed, I will enable the pattern download on my Etsy store. I monitor the state of my Etsy store several times a day, and I get instant emails whenever any change is made, so the purchase is usually completed within the same day. Sometimes, due to my daily duties and a time zone differences, it takes more than a day to complete the purchase.

Zlata suknja - testiranje kroja, deo 2

Anđela

Anđela je takođe pravila varijaciju A Zlata suknje od pamuka, a ukrasila ju je trakom u kontrastnoj boji. Moram da budem iskrena, kada sam dobila slike njene suknje, raspametila sam se detaljima koje je dodala. U to vreme sam ja šila moju verziju suknje od teksasa, pa sam, inspiridana Anđelinom idejom, dodala satensku traku kao ukras. 

Anđela kaže da joj je za šivenje suknje trebala velika koncentracija, i da je kroj zahtevan, ali da ga uz instrukcije i dodatne opise šivenj koje ću objaviti na blogu može sašiti i početnik koji ima malo iskustva.

Ono što je mene fasciniralo kod Anđele je njena posvećenost samom testiranju - žena je primetila svaku i najmanju greščicu u instrukcijama, koja mi je promakla. Takođe, veoma savesno je slala komentare, sugestije, ideje kako da preformulišem određeni opis kako bi bio pitkiji i jasniji čitaocu. Njeni komentari su mi izuetno pomogli da korigujem nejasnoće. Ako ikada poželite da testirate kroj, Anđela je moja topla preporuka :)

Julijana 

Julijana je takođe napravila varijaciju A od teksasa. Suknju nije postavila, ali ju je ukrasila suptilnim dekorativnim štepovima u predelu gajki, džepova i poruba. Dopada mi se kako ova suknja kombinuje klasičan, poslovan stil i neobaveznu, gotovo sportsku eleganciju. Iako je u pitanju teksas, ne može se reći da je suknja sportska, a upravo zbog ove tkanine je relativno svakodnevna. Sjajno!

 

Kler

Kler je napravila veselu i vedru suknju prema varijaciji B. Koristila je deblji pamuk kao osnovu, i crveni gabardin za borduru i pojas. Takođe, malo je skratila suknju. Jako mi se dopada njena verzija - prava prolećna suknja! Iako sam pomislila kako mi je dovoljno da imam tri suknje koje su sašivene po istom kroju, razmišljam se da napravim još jednu ovakvu - veselu i neobaveznu, koja bi se odlično uklapala sa baletankama i letnjim košuljama.

Keti

Keti je tokom testiranja napravila ne jednu, već dve suknje! Obe prema kroju za varijaciju C, koristeći za jednu od njih jednobojan teget pamuk, a za drugu tkaninu sa karo šarom. Moram da napomenem da je Keti veoma iskusna krojačica, i da je mudro izmenila originalan kroj kako bi ga adaptirala za karirani materijal. Naime, ovaj kroj u svom originalnom izdanju nije prikladan za karirane i prugaste materijale (više o tome ću pisati naredne nedelje), ali se uz određenu izmenu kroja ovaj problem da rešiti. Keti je vrlo mudro to izvela, i planiram da se još jednom osvrnem na ovu suknju i pokažem vam kako je to uradila. Zato, pratite dalje postove!

Takođe, želim još jednom da se zahvalim Keti, koja je bila ljubazna da detaljno prekontroliše sve moje konverzije mera iz metara i santimetara u jarde i inče. Da okolnost bude teža, to je radila dok je njen muž bio na operaciji, a ona čekala u bolnici da ga vidi posle intervencije i čuje od lekara ishod! Srećom, Ketin muž se dobro oporavlja i operacija je bila uspešna.
