Novo izdanje Sew News časopisa / A new issue of Sew News magazine

A few days ago I got a new issue of the Sew News magazine, which features my turquoise dress with a gathered bust insert. The dress' skirt has a kick pleat on both front and back sides. The fabric is an embroidered cotton with a border, that I used to emphasize the cut. Since the edge of the fabric was straight,  I cut the fabric along the scalloped embroidery, to get the final look.
I sewed the dress combining the JJ and Ute blouse patterns from Burda Style website and my drafting skills. You can find detailed instructions for pattern alteration in the magazine, where I used a simple shift dress with bust and waist darts as a basis.

Takođe, tirkizna boja fenomenalno ide uz njen ten.

I have to point out that I really like how the dress looks on the model, who has a similar body shape and dimensions to mine. Also, the turquoise looks fantastic on her complexion.

A evo kako ista izgleda na meni...

And here's how the dress looks on me...

  8. Very nice dress on you, and you sew so well. But I hate to think of how much you must be paying for an international subscription to Sew News.. It's been pretty much abandoned in the US for at least 15-20 years, as it's got nothing left but advertising. Threads is what you need to get your hands on for good US articles.. Much of it is online at http://threadsmagazine.com And of course you have easy access to the Burdas which are so much better then US patterns :-).

    1. Hi M-C, thanks for commenting. Actually, Sew News is paying me to write for them, plus I get a sample of every issue for free. I had a subscription for the Threads, and I'm visiting their website quite often, so I know the difference between the two.

    2. That's very different :-). Although then it's unfortunate that relationship isn't made more clear, but whatever..
