Dobih pre neki dan novi broj Sew News časopisa, za Oktobar / Novembar 2013, u kom je objavljen moj članak o veoma zanimljivim pantalonama koje sam šila pretprošle godine. Pantalone na pojasu imaju neobičan detalj u vidu revera, a široke nogavice imaju falte koje se otvaraju iznad kolena.

Članak u časopisu daje detaljna uputstva kako da prepravite kroj za klasične pantalone u ovaj kroj.

I got a new issue of Sew News October / November 2013 a couple of days ago, which features my article about a pair of really interesting pants I made back in 2011. The pants have an unusual detail on the waist - lapels, and the wide legs have knife pleats that open above knees.

Evo kako pantalone izgledaju na meni. Moram da priznam, sada kada ih gledam, nisu baš najbolje skrojene, i vidim kako se platno ružno zateže na preponama. To sam mogla i bolje da odradim, ali mislim da mi je u momentu kada sam ih šila najbitnije bilo da dokažem sebi da je ovakav kroj izvodiv i da ja to mogu, nego da podesim pantalone da mi stoje savršeno. Šteta, jer su baš šik! Ovde možete videti serijal postova koje sam pisala dok sam modelovala i šila pantalone.

Here's how the pants look on me. I have to admit, now that I look at them, they don't fit me well and there's a lot of pulling going on at the crotch. I should've fixed this, but I think that at the moment of sewing, my major concern was to prove myself that this pattern is doable, and that I can draft it, rather than to fit them perfectly. Danas naleteh na Facebook profilu Sew News časopisa na zanimljivu sliku - naslovnu stranicu novog izdanja magazina. A na njoj, moje pantalone koje sam šila prošle godine. Što volim kada se ovako prijatno iznenadim! :-)

U pitanju su mornarske pantalone, koje sam šila od prelepog teksasa koji po strukturi jako liči na lan. Pantalone u osnovi imaju Bella kroj sa Burda Style sajta, ali je u članku opisan detaljan postupak za izmenu osnovnog kroja za pantalone. Kompletan članak možete pročitati ovde.

Today I've stumbled upon an interesting picture on the Sew News' Facebook profile - a cover page of the new magazine issue. And, on the picture, the pants I sewed last year. Oh, how I like to be so pleasantly surprised!

These are sailor pants made of a gorgeous denim that resembles linen. The basis of the pants is the Bella pattern from Burda Style website, while the magazine article describes the pattern alteration using a basic pants sloper. You can find the whole article here.

As per usual, I'm showing how the garment looks on me.

Još uvek čekam da dobijem svoj primerak časopisa zajedno sa pantalonama. Nedostajale su mi sve ovo vreme i baš sam nestrpljiva da ih opet obučem jer su jako udobne i prijatne za leto.

I still haven't got my sample of the magazine along with the pants. I've been missing these and I'm rather impatient to wear them, since they're really comfortable and appropriate for the summer climate.

Ponovo koristim staru, ali veoma interesantnu sliku. Nosila sam varijaciju Bella pantalona, sa Burda Style sajta, koje su izmenjene prema stilu mornarskih pantalona.

This is an old picture again, but a very interesting one. I wore a variation of the Burda Style's Bella pants, altered to sailor style pants.

Ovde sam bila u poseti Alisi iz Zemlje čuda. Da znate, ima veoma lepu kućicu :)

Dan 25 / Day 25

Foto izazov za petak: Voda. Igranje i pevanje na kiši (plus stajanje u bari, ako možete da je vidite sa slika)... to je dovoljno vode za moj ukus...

Nosila sam crnu vojničku haljinu, koju sam stilizovala da izgleda što je moguće poslovnije. Kroj je iz Burde 1/2006, #130. Nisam nosila često ovu haljinu, iako je veoma udobna i lepo mi stoji. Stvar je u tome što me najčešće podseća na radnički kombinezon. Ipak, sa zlatnim detaljima sam uspela dobro da je zakamufliram i veoma mi se dopada u ovoj kombinaciji.

Singing and dancing in the rain (plus, standing in a minor pond, if you can actually see it).... that's enough water for me :)

Wearing a black military dress, that I styled to look as business like as possible. The pattern is from BWOF 11/2006, #130. I haven't worn this dress much, even though it's really comfortable and it fits me well. The thing is, most of the times it reminds me of coveralls. However with these golden details it is well camouflaged and I like it this way.

Nosila sam teget satensku suknju sa zelenim detaljima (Burda 10/2005, #121 sa izmenama kroja). Volim ovu suknju, i dobila sam dosta komplimenata na njen račun, ali je nisam nosila mnogo. Nisam nalazila odgovarajuću bluzu uz nju. Ovaj put, uparila sam suknju sa belom bluze na teget pruge i tufne (Burda 1/2008 #108), i veoma mi se dopada kako izgleda.

Wearing a navy satin skirt with green details (BWOF 10/2005, #121 with alterations). I love this skirt and I've been getting a lot of compliments for it, but I haven't worn it much. I couldn't find the right top for it. This time, I've paired it with a white blouse with navy stripes and polkadots (BOWF 1/2008 #108), and I really liked the look.

Poslednji dan ovog sjajnog izazova.

Hvala Zoe na organizovanju izazova, uživala sam kao i uvek, iako sam nekim danima imala problema da se uslikam. Kao omaž njoj, obukla sam se u mornarskom stilu.

Ovaj put sam bila manje maštovita u oblačenju nego inače, ali za to krivim vreme koje je bilo kišno, kišno, kišno...

Volela bih da imam više ručno šivene garderobe za sportske aktivnosti, poput farmerica i majica.

Ono što sam postavila sebi kao lični izazov je da uslikam interesantne slike, i mislim da sam uspela u tome (onim danima kada sam uspela da se slikam).

Thank you Zoe for organizing it, I enjoyed it as much as always, even though I had troubles photographing my outfits at certain days. As an homage to you, here's a quite nautical outfit from me :)

I was less imaginative with my outfits than usual, but I blame it on the weather, which was rainy, rainy, rainy...

I wish I had more casual, sportish garments like jeans and T-shirts for outdoor activities.

What I made my personal challenge was to snap some interesting pictures, and I think I did that well (on those days I when I managed to take them).

Pantalone sa reverima, deo 3. / Pants with a collar, part 3

Evo kako izgledaju pantalone. Gledano iz daleka, prilično su klasične. I poprilično duboke - ne pamtim kada su mi noge izgledale ovako duge. Falte na nogavicama ih dodatno proširuju, pa je osećaj u njima kao da nosim dugu suknju.

Here's how the pants look. Viewed from afar, they look quite classical. And quite high waisted - I can't remember when was the last time my legs looked that long. The pleats on legs additionally widen them, and the feeling is as if I'm wearing a skirt.

A kad se približite, vidi se rever na neočekivanom mestu!

And, when you come closer, you can see a collar on an unexpected place!

Poređenja radi, evo kako skica izgleda. Odustala sam od dugmića - bili su mi suvišni i čak preteran detalj, iako na crtežu odlično idu uz model.

Pantalone sa reverima, deo 2. / Pants with a collar, part 2

Sinoć i danas sam vredno krojila, fircala, peglala i šila, i evo dokle sam stigla. Pantalone su skoro gotove. Mislim da treba malo da ih proširim na bokovima (a taman sam ih suzila!). Osim toga, treba da obradim pojas i da ih porubim. Ne izgledaju loše...

Last night and today I cut, basted, pressed and sewed hard, and here's where I am at the moment. The pants are almost done. I think I need to widen them a bit at hips (and I've just narrowed them down!). Other than that, I need to finish the waistband and to hem them. I think they don't look bad at all...

Pantalone sa reverima / Pants with a collar

Nakon posta o iskustvu koje sam imala tokom kursa o modnom dizajnu, počela sam intenzivno da razmišljam o tome da materijalizujem neke od svojih ideja. Pantalone sa reverima su mi bile prve na tapetu.

After I posted about my experience with the fashion design course, I started thinking intensively about materializing some of my ideas. Pants with a collar are first on my list.

Posle intentivnog mozganja o tome kako da napravim kroj za iste, reših da napravim test kroj. Koristila sam kroj za Bella pantalone, i podosta ga izmenila ne bih li dobila željeni detalj na pojasu. Evo kako test kroj izgleda. Nabori na preponama su posledica toga što mi je test kroj malo tesan, ali to ću srediti tokom šivenja. 

Planiram da koristim divnu sivu vunu koju imam, a koja je kupljena pre nego što sam ja rođena, sa planom da se sašije odelo mom ocu. Držite mi palčeve, večeras se bacam na šivenje! :-)

After intense brainstorming on how to make a pattern for these pants, I made a muslin. I used the Bella pattern from Burda Style, and altered it a lot to get the collar detail on the waist. Here's how the muslin looks. The wrinkles on the crotch are there because the muslin was a bit tight, but I'll fix this while sewing.

I'll use a gorgeous gray wool I have in my stash, that was bought before I was even born, and it was supposed to become a suit for my dad. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm gonna sew tonight! :-)

Nove mornarske pantalone i košulja iz španskog Patrones-a, prepravljena prema kroju iz Burde. 

Day twenty eight.

A new pair of sailor pants and a shirt from the Spanish Patrones (altered using the BWOF pattern).

Dan dvadeset deveti.

"Nova" košulja - zapravo, još jedna bluza koju sam ukrala od mame i suzila za sebe. Jakna iz Burde iy 2005. godine.

Day twenty nine.

A "new" shirt - actually one more blouse I stole from my mom and fitted it for myself. The jacket is from BWOF circa 2005.

Dan trideseti.

Za poslednji dan izazova sam odabrala jednu od mojih omiljenih košulja. Primetite da su sve tri košulje varijacije istog kroja (Burda 1/2008, #108).

Day thirty.

I picked one of my favorite shirts for the last day of the challenge. Note that all 3 shirts are variations of the same pattern (BWOF 1/2008, #108).

SSS '11 - Dan 27. / Day 27

Dan dvadeset sedmi.

Danas sam rešila da napravim zaseban post, jer sam obukla nove, tek sašivene pantalone. Ovaj put kopiram samu sebe - napravila sam još jedan par mornarskih pantalona, prema kroju Bella sa Burda Style sajta. Naime, trebao mi je par laganih, svakodnevnih pantalona, koje bih mogla da nosim i uz patike. Pošto mi se mornarske pantalone jako dopadaju, ne videh razlog da ne napravim još koji par. 

Materijal je tanak, mekan, teksas, koji podseća na lan, i veoma je prijatan za nošenje. Razmišljam se da dokupim još koji metar tkanine, pa da sašijem još neki stvarčicu od nje.

Pantalone sam malčice izmenila, tek toliko da se vidi da nije u pitanju isti par koji sam ranije šila. Dodala sam kapne za džepove na zadnji deo, iako pozadi nema džepova. Takođe, profircala sam koncem za heklanje par ivica, kako bih malo naglasila kroj. 

Suma sumarum - veoma sam zadovoljna pantalonama i mislim da ću ih nositi godinama.

Day twenty seven.

I've decided to make a separate post today, since I'm wearing a brand new pair of pants. I'm copying myself again - I made another pair of sailor pants, using the Bella pattern from Burda Style website. I needed a pair of casual pants that I could wear with sneakers too. Since I like a lot the sailor pants, I had no reason not to make one more pair of them. 

The fabric is a thin and very soft denim that reminds me of linen, hence it's very comfortable to wear. I'm thinking of buying some more fabric and make few more garments.

The pants are a bit different from the previous pair - so that it's obvious they're not the same pair. I added the back pocket flaps even though there are no pockets on the back. Also, I hand basted some seams with crochet thread to emphasize the pattern a bit. 

All in all, I'm very pleased with the pants and I think I'll wear them a lot in the years to come.

SSS '11 - Dani 18., 19, 20., 21. i 22. / Days 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22

Dan osamnaesti.

Ovaj dan sam preskočila. Išla sam na Adu i trebala mi je sportska odeća, koju baš i nemam (bar ne onu ručno rađenu), tako da sam bila prinuđena da preskočim slikanje ovaj put. Do duše, nosila sam po kući šorc koji sam šila, ali se nisam uslikala u njemu.

Day eighteen.

I skipped this day. I went to a local lake and needed a sporty outfit. Unfortunately, I don't have any sporty self made clothes, so I had to skip the challenge for the day. I did wear some shorts at home though, but I didn't take any pictures of it.

Dan devetnaesti.

Ponedeljak sam započela noseći bluzu i suknju. Bluzu sam zapravo šila za mamu, ali sam je suzila pre neki dan za sebe, jer joj je postala tesna. Bluza je imala crne dugmiće, koji su odlično išli uz crni paspul umetnut u šavove. Međutim, kada sam oprala košulju, dugmad su pustila boju i ofarbala je! Narednih dana sam natapala košulju izbeljivačem i prala je sve dok fleke nisu izbledele. Crne dugmiće sam zamenila novim, belim, ali planiram da prišijem novu dugmad, koja se bolje uklapaju sa košuljom.

Day nineteen.

The blouse is BWOF 1/2008, #108 with piping. I actually made this one for my mom. I mentioned it before - she gained some weight recently so all of her blouses are a bit tight to her. I started narrowing them down one by one to make them fit me. This one is my absolute favorite. The blouse used to have black buttons, but they bled color once I washed it and left ugly grayish stains on button closure. I soaked the blouse into the bleach and washed it over and over again until the stains washed away. Phew!

SSS '11 - Dani 5., 6. i 7. / Days 5, 6 and 7

Dan peti.

Ovih dana sam raspoložena za eksperimentisanje sa detaljima u jarkim bojama. Već sam imala cipele u živim bojama, red je došao na kaiševe, tašne i nakit. Ova kombinacija mi se veoma dopala - crna bluza šivena prema kroju iz Burde 10/2004, #116 i kupljena suknja zajedno izgledaju kao haljina, a žuti aksesoar oplemenjuje i oživljava crnilo garderobe. 

I kao sasvim sporadičan detalj, moram da se pohvalim da mi se desio divan momenat na ulici - prišla mi je nepoznata gospođa da pohvali moj izgled. Nema lepšeg osećaja!

Day five.

I've been experimenting with details in bold colors lately. I've already had shoes in all the bright colors, and it was time to start collecting belts, purses and jewelry. I like this combination very much - a black self made blouse (BWOF 10/2004, #116) and a thrifted skirt together look like a dress, while the yellow accessories brighten up and give a life to the blackness of the garments.

And a quite miscellaneous detail, I have to brag a bit that I had a great moment on the street - a lady whom I don't know approached me to compliment my looks. Is there a better feeling?

Šorc prema kroju iz Burde 6/2008 #103, sa izmenama na pojasu, džepovima i nogavicama. Ovo mi je omiljeni kroj za šorc, i napravila sam prema njemu podosta bermuda i šorceva.

Dan dvadeset šesti.

Suknja koju sam sama modelovala. Ima na prednjem i zadnjem delu po 3 falte. Juče je bio vetrovit dan, a ja potpuno nespremna za izigravanje Merilin Monro - suknja mi je u više navrata sama poletela u vis, tako da sam častila par prolaznika ekskluzivnim pogledom :-).

Jakna je kupljena.

Day twenty six.

A skirt I drafted myself. It has 3 pleats on front and back panels. Yesterday was a windy day, and I was completely unprepared for impersonating Marilyn Monroe - I flashed several times, giving the passers by an exclusive view :-).

The jacket is thrifted. 

Noć dvadeset šesta.

Uveče je dodatno zahladnelo, pa sam se presvukla u malo topliju garderobu. 

Pantalone su prema Bella kroju sa Burda Style sajta, sa povećim izmenama kroja. Hmmm... sinoć mi nogavice nisu delovale TOLIKO duge...

Bluza je kupljena.

Night twenty six.

It cooled down during the night, so I changed to warmer clothes.

The pants are made using the Bella pattern from Burda Style website, with major alterations. Hmmm.. the legs didn't look THAT long to me last night...

The blouse is thrifted.

Dan dvadeset sedmi.

Danas je jedan od onih dana kada histerišem kako nemam šta da obučem (pripisaću to PMSu - u tim danima mom rasuđivanju ne treba nikako verovati!). Pantalone prema kroju iz Burde 8/2009 #106.

Day twenty seven.

Today's one of those I-have-nothing-to-wear days (I blame it on the PMS - my judgement's not to be trusted on those days!). The pants are made using the BWOF 8/2009, #106 pattern.

Dan devetnaesti:

• Pantalone - Bella kroj sa BurdaStyle sajta. Blago su izmenjene, time što sam uklonila falte na džepovima.

Noć dvanaesta:

• Nora haljina, o kojoj sam već pisala. Osnov za gornji deo je Nora kroj sa BurdaStyle sajta, dok sam suknju i obi pojas sama modelovala. Izvinjavam se zbog lošeg kvaliteta fotografija, bili smo u noćnom klubu, i nismo imali dovoljno prostora ni osvetljenja za bolje snimke.

Night twelve:

• The Nora dress pattern (from BurdaStyle website) in my interpretation. Excuse the lousy quality of the photos, we were at a night club, with not enough space nor light to make better ones.
